VI COMMANDO

Lt. Gerald Charles Stokes "Monty" Montanaro, formerly of the Royal Engineers, served as 2-i/c with No.1 (later becoming No.101) Troop of No.6 Commando from 1940 until, at least, 3^rd August 1941.

He was promoted to C.O. and Troop Captain in charge of No.1 Troop in March 1941 following Capt. J.C. Woollitt’s accident.

He was later promoted to Brigadier and was awarded the DSO.
